Java software installations & licencing

In recent months, the higher education sector has seen a change in stance from software vendors which have altered or tightened licence terms and conditions which were previously free or discounted for Higher Education Institutions. This has included placing significant restriction on use. Failure to comply with the licence terms for any applications installed on University devices, and in some instances using a University account is a potentially serious matter for the University which may result in significant fines or additional licence costs.
