Jonathan Broom-Edwards: 鈥'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' changed my mental resilience鈥 (VIDEO)
In preparation for the 2024 Paralympics athlete Jonathan Broom-Edwards has shared his training regime and mindset as he embarks on a third consecutive Games.
Speaking to 缅北轮奸 Sport about his experience on reality television's 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins', Jonathan said: “[It] completely transformed my mental resilience and resolve. I discovered things that I didn’t know I was capable of, and I transcended pain during that experience.”
He also credited the TV experience in benefitting his athletics training, as the T44-classified high-jumper hopes to add to his medal haul in Paris, having previously secured a gold medal at Tokyo 2020 and a silver at Rio 2016.
Broom-Edwards also describes his personal experience of competing in Tokyo, stressing the importance of maintaining a clear headspace and narrow focus to succeed.
“The Tokyo Games were very unique, we didn’t have an audience like we’re going to have for Paris 2024, so I’m looking forward to having the crowd,” he added.
Going into Paris as the defending champion, he spoke of the added pressure to perform: “I’m relishing in it because I feel I have it in me to do better than I have done before.”
